The ADVA
Biotechnology Story

ADVA Biotechnology is an Israel-based private company located in Bar-Lev High-Tech Park, in northern Israel. ADVA Biotechnology was established in 2016 with the vision of "Valuing life by granting advanced therapies to patients".

Knowing the need for smart and adaptive automation, and understanding that processes change and varies, the ADVA Biotechnology team developed a simple, smart, easy to use, automated, sensors-based, flexible platform. ADVAenables full manufacturing process of different applications, such as CAR-T, TCR, TILs, NK, exosomes, viruses, and more. By that, the ADVA brings different therapies to the bedside.

The ADVA Biotechnology unique team is composed of biologists, biotechnologists, engineers that bring their expertise to create novel and innovative technologies for advanced cell therapies.

A well-known international expert in cell therapy. Dr. Karnieli is the founder and former CEO of Atvio Biotech, a leading Innovation center for cell & gene therapy that was sold to Orgenesis Inc. in 2018. Former VP of Technology & Manufacturing at Pluristem Therapeutics, and the former VP of the medical device at Goji solutions. Dr. Karnieli served as the chair of the process & product development committee of the International Society for Cellular Therapies, as an expert member in the ISO TC276 Biotechnology standard committee, and was the former chair of the science and technology committee of the Alliance for Regenerative Medicine.

Noam Bercovich (Eng)

VP Development

Mr. Bercovich has over 19 years of cell therapy development and cGMP experience with extensive expertise in Bioreactor development. Mr. Bercovich was the former VP of Development of Atvio Biotech and the former Director of Process Engineering at Pluristem Therapeutics. Mr. Bercovich’s vast and unique knowledge and experience in cell therapy bioreactor development and cGMP manufacturing is a critical asset for the company.

Mrs. Toledo is a certified lawyer and holds an LLB from the Haifa University school of law. Additionally, Mrs. Toledo is a certified mediator. Prior to joining ADVA Biotechnology, Mrs. Toledo was the Business Development Manager at Atvio Biotech ltd where she has built a global BD activity. Mrs. Toledo was part of the legal and IP department at Pluristem Therapeutics. Mrs. Toledo brings to the team expertise and experience in BD and marketing in cell therapy.

Dror Armon (Msc, MBA)

VP, Commercial Opperations

For over the last 20 years, Mr. Armon has been serving as an executive and director in Israeli and international advanced technology companies related to health care and medical products, leading the Sales, Marketing and Business Development activities (Gateway Analytical, UpnRide, Insighitec, Hanita Lenses, Applies Spectral Imaging & Galil Medical). Post serving, for over 6 years in the Israeli Navy, as a marine officer (Major), Mr. Armon earned B.Sc. & M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and M.B.A. studies all from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, in Haifa, Israel.

Mr. Lindner was the maintenance manager at ATVIO Biotech where he was part of the innovative bioreactor development team. Furthermore, Mr. Lindner has over 6 years of experience in the maintenance of cGMP production facilities at Pluristem Therapeutics and deep knowledge and expertise in Bioreactors.

Mr. Scop has over 15 years of experience. Mr. Scop has vast experience in accounting, budgeting, and financial planning & control. Mr. Scop was the former Director of Finance at RCC Nigeria and serves as a controller of Pluristem Therapeutics. Mr. Scop is a certified public accountant and received his B.A. in Business Management with a major in accounting and M.B.A. in finance from the College of Management in Israel. Mr. Scope did his internship in KPMG Israel specializing in finance and worked there for total of 3 years.

Barbara Paldus (PhD, MBA)

Dr. Paldus is the chair of Sekhmet Ventures and general partner of Skymoon Ventures. Former Founder, chairman, and CEO of Finesse Solutions Inc., a leading bioreactor company recently sold to ThermoFisher Scientific. Dr. Paldus was the former founder and CTO of Picarro. Dr. Paldus earned her Ph.D. in electronic engineering from Stanford University. Dr. Paldus has extensive understanding in the field of biotechnology, bioreactors, and strong and relevant business experience.

Prof Karnieli is a professor of medicine at the Technicon Institute, a world-known expert in Endocrinology and personalized medicine. Chair of several international and Israeli medical societies in Endocrinology, Telemedicine, and Personalized Medicine. Head of the Galil center for telemedicine and an advisor to many of the large pharma on personalized medicine and endocrinology. Over 100 pear reviewed papers and books and several on cell & gene therapy

Dr. Elazary is an experienced entrepreneur in the medical device and energy arena with over 30 approved patents. Dr. Elazary is the founder of several companies in the field of medical devices and an advisor and board member of over ten medical device companies. Dr. Elazary’s experience and creative thinking provides the company guidance and  expertise and
relevant business experience.

An Israeli lawyer with a dynamic career of over 25 years, during which he has acted as a litigator in major cases, along with establishing activities focusing on commercial and civil matters at Amnon Zichroni & Co. Later, Mr. Greenspoon held a boutique practice, actively serving as legal adviser and member of the Board of Mobileye. He is the CEO of a real estate development company in Israel, responsible for commercial projects above 200,000 sq. m. He is also a member of the Board of OrCam and the owner of Halilit – a musical instrument distributor in Israel.
